Adding media/playlist to Campaign

Introduction

The campaign consists of zones where the media that need to be displayed is added. These zones organize the media in a form of playlists. The playlist in CampaignManager Web exists as a separate entity. They can be also added in the Zone Playli st.

Adding media to Campaign

In order to add media the ‘What’ section (tab) of a campaign needs to be opened. After the new campaign is created, this section is opened by default.

There are several types of entities that can be added: File, Website ZIP Upload, Web Resource, Live Stream, Capture, Existing Media, Existing Playlist, Remote File Drop, Media Template and Media Tree Library. There are three ways that these entities can be added:

- By clicking on the ‘Add Media’ button in the middle of the page in the ‘What’ section. NOTE: ‘Add Media’ button in the middle of the page will be shown only when there are no media items in the Playlist in the ‘What’ section.

- By clicking on the ‘Playlist Settings’ button from the left navigation menu.

- By clicking on the button ‘Playlist Settings’ in the right-click context menu.

The types of media that can be added to a Campaign are briefly explained below:

File Upload

Select this to add files such as image, video, audio, flash etc.

Website ZIP Upload

Select this to add ZIP files that include a website.

Web Resource

Select this to add web resource to the zone playlist. Web resource supports web URLs.

Live stream

Select this to add live stream source as media to the zone playlist.

Capture

Select this to add capture stream from the attached web camera to the zone playlist.

Existing Media

Select this option to add media from the media library. Helper window opens up showing the list of media libraries and their associated media which you can drag & drop on the zone.

Existing Playlist

Select this option to add existing playlist to the zone. Helper window opens up showing the list of all public playlist which you can drag & drop on the zone.

Remote File Drop

Select this option and enter the network path to a shared media in the local area network. No media file is transferred, only file path string is transferred to the player and player plays the media from the given location.

Media Template

Select this to add media template to the zone playlist.

Media Tree Library

Select this to add media tree library to the zone playlist.

Adding Playlist to Campaign

Instead of adding separate media files to a campaign, there is an option to add a whole playlist. There are three ways of adding a playlist to a campaign (as it was previously mentioned). One is By clicking on the ‘Add Media’ button in the middle of the page in the ‘What’ section and selecting ‘Existing Playlist’. (NOTE: ‘Add Media’ button in the middle of the page will be shown only when there are no media items in the Playlist in ‘What’ section).

The second way is by selecting ‘Existing Playlist’ from the ‘Add Media’ drop-down menu from the ‘Playlist Settings’ button in the left navigation menu.

The last way is by selecting ‘Existing Playlist’ from the ‘Add Media’ drop-down menu from the ‘Playlist Settings’ button in the right-click context menu.

Using any of the previously described ways to add a playlist to a campaign, the modal window will be shown with all available playlists.

Below the title is a drop-down list with all available Playlists and search box field. Use the search box to find the needed playlist or select it from the drop-down list. After Playlist is selected below the search box will be shown all media from this Playlist. You can select individual media from the Playlist (check the checkboxes next to each media) and add them by clicking on the button ‘Add Media’ or you can add the whole Playlist (as media item) by clicking on the ‘Add Playlist’ button.
