Conditional Play

CampaignManager Web comes with one of the peak features in digital signage called Conditional Play. The conditional play lets us organize our players by category and then play certain content from the campaign to certain screens, without the need to create different campaigns.

Apart from category-based conditional play, there is Intel AIM based play. Intel AIM is a technology which with a help of a camera determines the number of users, their gender even their age. With the help of this technology, we can make condition as which media will play on the screens based on its audience.

Setting media for conditional play

First, we select the media from the Playlist and click on the Conditional button from Playlist Settings menu from the left navigation menu.

The Conditional Play also can be accessed by clicking on the Conditional button from Playlist Settings menu from the right-side context menu.

After that modal window, Conditional Play is opened, showing the options for Conditional Play for the selected media.

The modal window consists of two sections, the 'Condition Summary' and the 'Condition Configuration'. At the bottom are two buttons ‘Remove condition’ and ‘OK’. Clicking ‘OK’ will add the selected condition to the selected media, while ‘Remove condition’ removes the added condition.

The Condition summary gives information about the conditions added to the media.

The Condition Configuration is used to configure the condition. The condition has a probability of playing, which is controlled by percentage adjusted with a scrollbar.

From the Category match, the category of channels that the media needs to be played can be chosen. For the other tabs here, there are links with the '?' sign that navigate to the page with additional details regarding them.

In the Face Match tab there are six sub tabs: History, Gender, Age, Audience, Dwell Time and Attention time. For Dwell and Attention time there are links with the '?' sign that navigate to the page with additional details regarding them.

The history range is used to set the condition based on data stored from some time before or from the data at the moment.

There are seven options: Instant data which is used if the condition is dependent on the data it has from the face recognition suite at the moment. Within the given time (1 hour, 24 hours, week, month, year), the condition will be set from data harvested within that time.

The gender tab sets the condition, based on the gender of the audience.

It could be a condition for entirely female, mostly female, mixed, mostly male and entirely male.

The Age tab sets the condition based on the age of the audience. Four groups based on ages are available: Child (under 16), Young adult (16-34), Mature adult (35-64) and Senior (65+). Also, from the available checkboxes, the following can be selected: Any, Mostly or Entirely conditions for the ages. In the bottom of this tab, there is Age Insensitive checkbox. Select this box to remove age conditions.

The Audience tab defines the number of the audience. It’s controlled with logical operators that are chosen from a combo box and the number inputted in a text field. Available logical operators to work with it are: less than, less or equal, equal, greater than and greater or equal.

Once the condition is set, the information in the condition summary will be displayed.

In the zone playlist, there will be also an information icon about the condition.

To remove added condition to the media, click again on ‘Conditional’ (from ‘Playlist settings’). From the left navigation menu or from the context menu, click on ‘Remove condition’ button. After that, all previously set conditions will be removed for the selected media.
