Media library is a secure collection of media stored centrally on the server. Media Library is a domain level entity. Hence it can be shared among different projects within the same domain. The user needs to add the media library to the domain, if it resides solely on the domain level. A user must also have appropriate permission to create media library either on domain or project or both.
To create media library on the domain, select Media Libraries from Project Explorer under Domain tree view.
This opens all Media library list-view workspace. The list-view is labeled as Media Libraries (Domain) to differentiate with the project level media library list-view. Right-click inside the list-view to open the context menu and select Create New.
And the Create New Media Library pop up will appear; enter the name of the new Media Library, click Create.
Then the Choose projects to import current item pup up will appear; choose the projects then click Import.
A new Media Library workspace is created. To add a media item to the media library, there are few choices. Hover over the link Add Media or on Big Plus Icon, or right-click on the workspace and select Add Media from the context menu.

Existing Media | Select this to add media item from other Media Libraries to the current Media Library. Media includes all of the above in this table. |
Web Resource | Select this to add web resource URL to the Media Library |
Live stream | Select this to add live stream URL to the Media Library. |
If you select Add Media, this will open a media selection dialog. Select the appropriate media and click Open.
Select the appropriate categorization action. For more details on category and auto-categorization, please refer to Category article.
If you select Add Web Resource, the following window will open. Enter a valid web resource URL, select Check webpage availability checkbox to check the availability of the webpage and click OK.
If you select Add Existing Media, then the Helper window will open. Select a Media Library from the helper window list and drag & drop one or more media to the Media Library workspace.
To assign a category to the media file in the Media Library, select the media file and from Action menu choose Assigned Categories.
Then click on Save button in the navigation menu.
To create Media Library in project, open Media Libraries in Project Explorer tree view.
This opens the all Media Library list view in project level. The list view is labeled as Media Libraries (Project) to differentiate with the domain level media library list view. Right-click inside the list view to open the context menu and select New. A new Media Library workspace will be created.
Alternatively, you can select Media Library from the navigation menu.
Create New Media Library pop up will appear:
A new Media Library workspace will be created.
To add a media item to the media library, select the appropriate ribbon button from the Media tab in the ribbon. Alternatively, right-click to open the context menu and select the appropriate menu command.
For adding a media item to the project level Media Library, follow the same steps described earlier for the domain. Once media item is added to the Media Library, select Save from the navigation menu to Media Library. The Media Library will be successfully saved in the project level and a copy of this Media Library will be created at the domain level as well. You can also assign a category to individual media as well. For more details on assigning categories to media, please refer to Category article.
If the Media Library exists solely in the domain level, then it needs to be added to the project before it can be used. To add existing domain level Media Library to project, open Media Library from Project Explorer under Project tree view. Select Add Existing Domain Media Library from Home tab in ribbon Alternatively, right-click inside the all Media Library list view to open the context menu and select Add Existing Domain Media Library.
Select the appropriate Media Libraries in the Media Library list and select OK. Only Media Libraries that do not exist in the currently opened project will be shown in the list.
The selected Media Libraries will be added successfully to the project.
