The QR code zones are used to display the QR codes for static text provided by the user or for the description of some media, or also to display QR code to allow remote interaction by Staff or customers.
QR code zone allows users to link on-screen content with web resources. By placing a QR code zone on the screen, users can use a mobile device to scan the code and be redirected to related online content such as contact forms, vouchers etc. Certain types of the QR code Zone allow customers or Staff to remote control the playing content on the screen.
QR code can be per Campaign or per media item. The QR code zone’s positioning can be common to all items in a Campaign or separate for each one.
You can add QR code zone by clicking on the button QR Code Zone from the submenu Add new Zone from the Zones Layout button from the left navigation menu or the right context menu.
Once this button is clicked, a QR code zone is added in the zone preview and the QR code zone workspace opens.
By default, QR code zone is added to the top left corner of the preview layout. In its zone settings, there are five options: display QR code for following static text, display QR code for the description of currently playing media in the primary zone, display QR code to allow audience scan and remotely interact, display QR Code to allow staff scan and remotely interact after validated by QR access and display QR Code to access DEUS for the certain DEUS key on the playing channel after validated by QR access.
Ensure that needed text has been inserted, and click on the Save button before Publishing.
Example:
Select the QR Zone and click on Zones Layout menu from the left navigation or right context menu. All options except for ‘Primary Zone’ button are available for the QR Code Zone. This button is disabled for QR code zones. Below the screen designer, you can change manually the Position X (%), Position Y (%), Width (%) and Height (%) for the QR Code Zone.
Also, multiple QR code zones can be added to the campaign.
The QR code zone can be removed like any other zone, by selecting it and choosing Remove Zone from the Zones Layout menu from the left navigation or right context menu.

You can drag the QR code zone to change its default position on the canvas.
- The inserted static text you can preview simply by opening Camera on your smartphone (or QR Code reader) and wait for the scan to show the inserted text, in this example: www.ryarc.com will be opened on your mobile.
- If you want to display different static text or URL then multiple QR code zones need to be inserted into the Campaign and configured with the proper text or URL.
- The campaign full-screen preview will show the QR code zones.
- The following screenshot shows the scanning process and pop up link, the second one shows the browser after clicking on the link provided by QR code.
For Option 2: “Display QR Code for the description of currently playing media in the primary zone. (The QR zone would be auto hidden if no description found)”, you can add different static text or URL for different media. This means that even if you add multiple QR code zones in the Campaign, they can only be associated with media from the primary zone.
To set up different text or URL for different media, select the media in the primary zone, additional ‘Description’ field will be shown where you can enter a proper description.

For Option 3: “Display QR code to allow audience scan and remotely interact”, scanning the barcode on the QR code zone should redirect you to Ryarc Mobile service (http://yourserver/RyarcMobile) and should auto log on to the domain. This option is open for all the scanners and does not need extra authorization in advance.
-The QRCode refreshes automatically on the remote side to make sure only the latest scanner has the access and prevent security issue from the old QRCodes.
-Before any remote interaction, it is mandatory to set up the options. This can be made by clicking on the specified Campaign > Settings > Remote Interaction. When checking the first checkbox ”Allow authorized remote viewers of this Campaign to turn it on or off.” additional options will be shown below. By default, campaigns are not set to allow remote control.

-At the end, you should scan the QR code on the player, that will allow to operate remotely from your phone under the user credential the previous QRCode grants - Turn ON/OFF campaign, search and change Channel, choose or add another Media Template, get into the Tickers option, Refresh button etc.
