Ryarc Mobile is a local override application that enables a user to turn ON/OFF a Campaign or a Ticker on the local player, on demand. Ryarc Mobile service is installed when CM Service is installed. Therefore Ryarc Mobile service and CM Service are installed on the same server machine.
For this feature to work you will need to have your domain properly set. Firstly during the installation of your CM Service, you will have to properly name your default project. If you haven’t done this, the default project name will have to be inserted into the web.conf file of both the CM Service and Ryarc Mobile.
The campaigns that you want to control using this feature must be in the default project, and it must have all the channels from the entire domain imported to it. Next, you need to have multiple projects each with their own channels (which are also imported into the default project). In these projects, you can create channels, tickers, commands as normal, but these entities will not be available for remote control.
The campaigns and tickers that you may control remotely must be published from the default project, and have all the shared channels assigned to them. It is designed this way so that you can incidentally publish high priority campaigns and tickers to devices only on a specific project.
Open a browser and enter the URL of the Ryarc Mobile service, such as http://www.ryarc.net/RyarcMobile.
To access Ryarc Mobile on the local host enter the URL of the local Ryarc Mobile service such as localhost/RyarcMobile. Use Campaign Manager credentials to log in to Ryarc Mobile.
Use the domain login credentials to log in to Ryarc Mobile. For example, if your domain username is bet\domainadmin, then use the same username and password to login to Ryarc Mobile. Click the Login button. Login should be successful.
Depending on whether the user is a domainadmin or a normal user, the page will display differently. A domain admin will see all the channels of the domain, where the normal user will see all the projects he has permissions for.
View for a domain admin.
View for a normal user.
To search for a specific channel, enter the channel name in the search textbox and click Search. The filtered result will return all channels matching the string.
If you are logged in as a domain admin, click the channel to view the list of all its published Campaigns and Tickers that can be manually overridden by the local user. Note that Campaigns and Tickers appearing in the Ryarc Mobile list are governed by the remote interaction settings. Therefore the list does not include all Campaigns and Tickers published to that channel.
If you are logged in as a regular user, click on a project name, and a list of all campaigns and tickers that are published to channels contained in that project will appear.
Appearing campaigns in the Ryarc Mobile can be in two states: ON or OFF. If the campaign has an active behavior selected in the CM, then in the Ryarc Mobile will be in ON state and ON green button will be enabled. On the other hand, if the campaign has an inactive behavior selected from the CM then in the Ryarc Mobile will be in OFF state and OFF green button will be enabled. To change the state of the campaign from ON to OFF or from OFF to ON select appropriate available button for the campaign.
Appearing tickers in the Ryarc Mobile can be in two states: ON or OFF. If the ticker has an active behavior selected in the CM then in the Ryarc Mobile will be in ON state and ON green button will be enabled. On the other hand, if the ticker has an inactive behavior selected from the CM then in the Ryarc Mobile will be in OFF state and OFF green button will be enabled. To change the state of the ticker from ON to OFF or from OFF to ON select appropriate available button for the ticker.
To publish Campaign and Ticker with remote interaction settings, open the Campaign and/or Ticker workspace and go to its Settings page. Check the checkbox Allow authorized remote viewers of this Campaign to turn it on or off. The settings under this checkbox are governed as per the following table.
1 | Allow authorized remote viewers of this Campaign/Ticker to turn it on or off is not checked | This setting enforced that Campaign/Ticker is always on and will not be available in Ryarc Mobile application. You cannot turn ON/OFF Campaign/Ticker that has been published without the remote interaction settings. | |
---|---|---|---|
2 | Remote interaction is turned ON: default published behavior is Active | This setting enforces that Campaign will play by default and can be overridden (turned OFF) by the local user. | |
3 | Remote interaction is turned OFF: default published behavior is Inactive | This setting enforces that Campaign will NOT play by default and can be overridden (turned ON) by the local user. | |
4 | Play once and then stop after switching | This setting enforces that Campaign will play by default only once and after that it will be stopped (automatically pulled). Note that this option is available only for Campaigns. | |
5 | Remotely control random number generator | This setting will allow the local user to control random number generator.Note that this option is available only for Campaigns. |
To turn ON/OFF Campaign or Ticker, go to the prospective page (Campaign or Ticker) and click on either ON or OFF button (depending on its current state). Click the Refresh button to update the time it will take before the changes are reflected on the player.
Once a Campaign or Ticker is manually overridden (turned ON or OFF), it will stop being aired on the player.
You can use the Back button to move between channels page and Campaign/Ticker list. Click the Refresh button to refresh the list of Campaigns or Tickers. To log out, click the logout button. This should log out a user and open the login page.
