Campaign Manager Zusa (CM Zusa) is the “business end” of the Campaign Manager system. The Zusa is responsible for playing back media as screensaver and managing playlists, media downloads as well as monitoring system heal th.
Zusa needs to be configured with a channel configuration file to download metadata and media from the server. Once configured and started, Zusa reports back to CM Service and downloads content from the service over http protocol. The channel configuration file includes information about the CM Service and other associated data that is required for the Zusa to contact CM Service.
To generate a channel configuration file, login to your domain and open the Channels page. Now select any existing channel in the list. Please refer to Technical documentation about how to create a channel.
Click Create Zusa Configuration File either from the left context menu or from right click context menu.
This creates file with .cmzc extension.
To configure the Zusa with the channel configuration file. Double click on the .cmzc file. This will auto configure the zusa.
Task dialog will inform that the Zusa has been successfully configured.
If you do not want to configure the zusa with an active channel but just want the zusa to connect to the CM Service so that at a later time you can configure the zusa, then you need to use default configuration file in same way.
Note that once configured and started, zusa will appear only in device listview under domain. The subscribed channel column will show “Not Configured” as this zusa has not been configured with any existing channel. This zusa won’t play anything until zusa is configured with a proper channel and Ca mpaigns are published to it.
