Editing Ticker

Ticker features are located in two places:

  • Under Ticker Property
  • In the ticker navigation menu marked with following icon

Ticker Property

Display properties are located under the Ticker Property section.

There are descriptions of each feature in the list below:

Open Ticker Property in ticker navigation by clicking on the ticker icon:

In the following section is given a description for each of the features:

Show Datetime

The ticker layout shows the Date Time section to the right of the layout with a date at the top and time at the bottom of the date time section. Show Date Time option in ribbon remains selected. Even if the user is logging off and log back in this ribbon button will remain selected for this ticker.

Right to Left

Click Right to Left in Ticker navigation menu. The ticker layout shows title and description to the right of the layout panel. Right to Left option in ribbon remains selected.

Uncheck Right to Left by clicking it again. Ticker RSS text scrolls to the left. Now if you select Show Date Time option, Date Time section will appear to the left of the ticker layout panel.

Show channel image

Check Show Channel Image from ticker navigation menu. The ticker layout panel shows channel image section to the left of the layout. Show Channel Image option in the navigation menu remains selected for this ticker.

Ticker Logo Image

To use a custom image as ticker logo select Ticker Logo Image from ticker navigation menu. A dialog opens up to select a ticker image.

Only the following images are allowed: jpg, jpeg, gif, bmp, png are allowed. No other media filter is provided. Select an image and click ‘Open’ to add it as Ticker Logo Image or click ‘Cancel’ to cancel this operation.

After the image has been selected, the image section appears to the left of the ticker layout in ticker what section.

Background image

Select the Ticker Background Image option from the ticker navigation bar. A dialog opens up asking the user to select a background image. Only image filters are available.

Select any image to add it as a background image. The image is added to the middle of the ticker layout in the ticker what section. To change the image, deselect the ticker background image selection in the ribbon and select it again to select a different image.

After background image is selected Background Image Style control became enabled. By default, this option is set to stretch. Select Background Image Style and from the combo box select Stretch, Center, Fit or Tile style for the background image.

The third part in the ribbon under the Ticker tab is Preview. One button is available in this part and that is Full Screen. Select Full Screen button to preview the ticker on full screen.

Alignment

Alignment option is used for aligning the ticker bar on each corners.

Gradient Style

In Gradient Style option, choose color changing between None, Vertical and Horizontal.

Animation Style

In the Animation Style choose the way in which the information will appear in the ticker bar. There are two styles: Load from Top and Load from Bottom.

Editing When Section

The When section is used to schedule the time of appearance of the ticker. By clicking on the When tab in the ribbon, the schedule workspace appears in a form of a calendar.

The schedule type can be chosen between Basic or Recurrent schedule. By default is chosen Basic schedule type. There are two buttons from we can choose the Schedule type.

To change schedule range click on calendar icons at the end of Start: and End: fields or type the date directly. To change enter the appropriate time Start: and End: fields in the following format hh:mm:ss in 24-hour format.

The schedule exception is used to define an exception from the starting and ending schedule. An exception can be added only in the frame of the starting and ending time.

The “Addition” is used to add extra time in a day. “Exclusion” is used to exclude a portion of the time. The “Remove” button is used to remove an addition or exclusion. The “Remove All” button is used to remove all exceptions.

Editing Where Section

The where section is used to define on which screen the ticker will air. By clicking the where button, the target site workspace appears.

The Where workspace consists of two list boxes, one with the Available channels and the other with the Targeted Channels. Each list box has a Search text box so channels can be searched by their name.

In the middle, there are four buttons. The button with the symbol ‘>’ is used to transfer selected channels to the Targeted list box. The button with the symbol ‘»’ is used to add all channels to the Targeted list box. The button with the symbol ‘<’ is used to remove the selected channels from the targeted Channels and the button with the ‘«’ symbol is used to remove all channels.

Editing Settings

Select the Settings button to open settings workspace and to change settings for the ticker. Two subsections can be edited in settings workspace. In Ticker details, the name of the ticker can be changed.

Also in this subsection Ticker priority can be changed by selecting priority from the dropdown menu, available values are: Lowest, Low, Normal, High and Highest.

Changes for remote interactions of the ticker can be made in the “Remote Interaction” subsection.

To enable remote interaction of the ticker, check the available checkbox “Allow authorized remote viewers of this Ticker to turn it on or of”.
